Impressed with the breadth and the artistic quality of last year's Możdżer+Marcus Miller is now coming to Gdańsk with friends and special guests to host this year's biggest jazz show in Poland, his very own Marcus+. The legendary bass guitarist will rule supreme on three purpose-built stages behind the Polish Baltic Philharmonic. After playing their own hits, the stars will be joined by Marcus to perform material carefully selected by the main actor of the evening. They will be accompanied by Poland's best symphonic orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, conducted by the Zelig of jazz, Gil Goldstein. Marcus+ is the only concert in these parts to feature material from the Marcus Miller - A Night in Monte Carlo album (2010) in a setting worthy of this amazing project. Polish stars of the show will include Leszek Możdżer (who took out a bundle of awards for Możdżer+, including Gazeta Wyborcza's Sztorm Roku (Storm of the Year) in the Biggest Event of 2010 category) and Tomasz Stańko, by all accounts one of our most recognizable artists in the United States. The show is bound to yet again deliver what Solidarity of Arts has set out to achieve from the beginning: bring high art to the public spaces of Gdańsk. Canal+, who are co-producing the event, will be broadcasting it live with help of eighteen cameras. The show promises to be an absolute highlight of the festival.
